What is a Regional Meeting?
The regional division (for link click here ) in BEST is mean to ensure an easier communication between Local BEST Groups and the international level. Imagine the international board and committees trying to keep an eye on all the 89 Local BEST Groups at the same time! Tough isn't it? That's why the regional level exists, and allows the Local BEST Groups of each region (1 region ~10 Local BEST Groups) to rise and discuss issues inside BEST at an effective scale.
The Regional Meetings, that occurs twice a year, are the events during which each Local BEST Group has the opportunity to meet for real the rest of the region! Usually 3 or 4 delegates per Local BEST Groups are chosen and sent to the Regional Meeting to represent their university.
So it's the occasion for everybody to work on subjects that are not easy to discuss at the European scale! Typically:
- Preparing the delegates for the oncoming General Meeting (General Assembly Belgrade, a couple of weeks after this Regional Meeting), and let them discuss the proposals that are gonna be voted.
- Talking about any matters that could concern every Alpiner. During Discussion Groups or Sharing sessions. It's the opportunity to observe and learn from the others!
- Having useful trainings and case studies , according to the needs of the Local BEST Groups. Getting in touch with the international matters of BEST (Through Committees, that are also represented during Regional Meetings).
- Empower diversity and learn from the cultural differences among participants, improving relationship among Local BEST Groups.
- Let participants and Company meet during the event.
